Café Sign is a screen print on paper of a blue café sign on a bright yellow background. The bold lines and bright colours are typical of Caulfield’s work from the time. His use of bold lines and bright colours was inspired by postcards he collected whilst travelling after art school. Caulfield said that he was influenced by the simplicity and directness of the images on the postcards.
